Windows 7 is here!

Today is the release day for Windows 7. Again Microsoft is selling in a hierarchy of available features. You can choose from Windows 7 Home, Professional, and Ultimate. This is always an annoying prospect, but it is a business. If you want more you have to pay more.

It should do well; Microsoft has spent a lot of time and money to convince everyone that it isn’t Vista. I never got around to using Vista, so I don’t know for myself. But I have played a bit with Windows 7 already and I have to say that I like it. The menu still annoys me a bit, I hate having to scroll through all of the folders on one list. Everyone likes what they know, and I started with Windows 95. Hence I like that old menu. Even in Windows XP, I had the menu set to classic mode. But the newer search feature is pretty neat; it seems to find almost anything I look for on the computer.

The new OS is worth checking out. Just make sure you check out the upgrade advisor before buying Windows 7. Make sure your current computer can handle it. And keep in the mind the minimum requirement are just that, they might be enough to install the system. But that doesn’t say anything about how well it will run.

The best promotion I’ve seen on the net today is that the Burger King’s in Japan have a 7 patty Whopper to celebrate the release of Windows 7.
